Piece of Cake

I've had this set for a while, but didn't get a chance to play with it until I started preparing for a birthday card class.  What fun!

I started by coloring the stripes and polka dots in the birthday cake with Granny Apple Green, Daffofil Delight, Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie.

Originally I thought about using DSP along the edge, but since I didn't have any that matched the colors I wanted to use, I cut strips of cardstock and made my own! Each strip is 2" long and 1/2" wide. Eleven pieces fit perfectly on a 5 1/2" cardbase.

The cake is popped up, which makes it stand out, because....Cake IS the answer!
