Paper Pumpkin Alternative

January's Paper Pumpkin kit makes some fun and easy Valentine's Day cards. But why follow directions when you don't have to?

My neighbors have two of the most adorable little girls, and they both love my dog Piper. So as I was figuring out what to make for them, I noticed a card I made from the Hot Dog set, the Paper Pumpkin box, and a pile of old designer series paper. Bingo!

The oldest little girl is 5, going on 30. She talks to Piper from across the street and waves to her in the window when they walk by.

For her card, I stamped the verse from the Paper Pumpkin kit in Poppy Parade on one of the panels from the kit, then colored the dog to look like a yellow lab, and popped her up under it. I drew the balloon lines to the top and under her mouth, then punched out a bouquet of Flirty Flamingo and Poppy Parade heart balloons.

My little two year old friend got a simpler card with lots of hearts and XOXO from the kit. I thought she would like the raised enamel hearts scattered around as well as the Real Red ribbon.

A bouquet of Flirty Flamingo and Real Red balloons are tied to Piper's tail. So cute!

It's easy and fun to combine the Paper Pumpkin kits with other stamping products. Don't be afraid to try it!
