Gift bags are so much fun to make, and so easy and inexpensive if you start with a plain bag from the dollar store!
The raffia handles on this bag gave me the idea to "keep it country", and the pine trees around my house that are just loaded with pine cones this year inspired me to use the Christmas Pines stamp set and coordinating Pretty Pines Thinlits.
Most of my house has knotty pine paneling from the lumber mill my grandfather and father ran for years. I am lucky to live in the house they built, and I grew up in. So I am a bit partial to anything 'pine'!
I started by stamping a few pine boughs with Always Artichoke directly onto the bag, then adhered a few 'tips' (that's what Maineahs call them) on top of the stamped images to create some depth. On top of all that I placed two pine cones and a jute twine bow.
Along the bottom of the bag I adhered a strip of Wood Textures DSP with a piece of burlap ribbon in the center and a Merry Christmas message stamped on the oval Stitched Shapes Framelit.
I wanted to keep the tag simple, so I just cut a little piece of Wood Textures DSP and tied it to the handle with jute twine.
Now I have to decide what to put in the bag and who to give it to. Or....perhaps I'll keep it for myself!
