Rustic Retreat Birthday Card

The new Rustic Retreat is a lovely set created by a million dollar achiever Mary Polcin. She demonstrated the set at April's OnStage event in Minneapolis. What a treat!

I wanted another masculine card for our July stamp class, so this was the perfect set for that.

I started by creating the bottom layer by stamping the Buffalo Plaid background stamp with Mossy Meadow onto Crumb Cake.

The top layer is Crumb Cake and the trees are from the Rustic Retreat set and stamped with Mossy Meadow. Then that piece is run through the Subtle embossing folder.

The center oval verse is stamped with Soft Suede on Very Vanilla and cut with a stitched oval die, then set on top of a larger Mossy Meadow oval. Love the verse!

Because we will be making this at July's stamp class that's all about birthdays, I stamped the inside with the birthday stamp in Soft Suede then the trees again in the Mossy Meadow.

I'm looking forward to making some Christmas cards with this set too.



It's a very versatile set to use for any occasion!
