Dragonflies and Dandelions

With the promise of spring right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to see what I could create with the Dragonfly Garden Bundle and the Dandy Garden Memories & More Cards & Envelopes.

This was the first time I've used the Memory & More Cards & Envelopes, but it won't be the last! They are great! The cardfront is printed with Bumblebee dandelions, which gives you a head start on your design. The inside flap and front of the envelope is also printed, which adds a nice touch. They are a bit larger than what we typically make, at 4 1/4" x 6 1/4", and you get 20 cards and envelopes for $10.00 - you can't beat that!

I started off simple with this pretty Calypso Coral dragonfly. The strip in the middle is paper from the Dandy Garden 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper pack layered onto a strip of Calypso Coral cardstock. I always like to add some colored pearls whenever I can, so I placed three Gold Metallic Pearls in the Whisper White stitched circle.

For this card I colored the flowers with Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather and Old Olive, tied a piece of Mossy Meadow Trim around it then adhered that onto a piece of Bumblee. I adhered a strip of Mossy Meadow onto the side of the cardfront, then adhered the colored panel onto that.

I stamped the verse then cut it out with a stitched oval die and adhered that over the trim and edge of the panel, then popped a Highland Heather dragonfly over that.

And don't forget the lady bug!!

These dragonflies are stamped with Mint Macaron then popped up onto a Whisper White layer that I embossed using the Dandelion 3-D embossing folder.

The Silver Metallic Pearls almost change color to match the Mint Macaron!

By adding the black layer behind the Whisper White, everything is pulled together.

For this final card I trimmed off an inch of the cardfront, then adhered a layer of retired DSP and a strip of Misty Moonlight to the outside edge of the inside of the card.

I colored the flowers in Misty Moonlight and Old Olive on a stitched rectangle piece of Whisper White, stamped the verse in Misty Moonlight, tied a piece of Misty Moonlight ribbon around them, then layered them with both colors and adhered that panel so the right edge goes over the edge of the cardfront. I used Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to add some bling.

Happy first day of spring!
