Side Step Gnomes

I like fun fold cards that can stand by themselves with just a couple simple folds. Like this faux side step card.

As I was digging around my DSP stash looking for paper for this card, I came across this retired paper that I knew was perfect for this card!

Paper colors are: Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Poppy Parade, Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz.

Cardbase: 8” x 5 ½”, scored at 1”, 2”, 5”

Side Panel: 3” x 6”, scored at 4 ¼”

DSP : 2 ¾” x 5 ¼”

Bottom strip:  ¾” x 5 ¼”

Top Panels:   2 ¾” x 4” and 2 ½” x 3 ¾”

  • Fold cardbase at score lines.

  • Adhere DSP layer to large panel and Mossy Meadow strip to small front panel.

  • Fold 3″ x 6″ piece of Crumb Cake at score line. Place adhesive on bottom edge of longer panel of Crumb Cake and attach the bottom edge of the cardfront, then fold the piece and adhere the other end to the back of the card.

  • Stamp verse onto Basic White panel using Mossy Meadow ink.

  • Stamp and color gnome. Colors used: Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake, Petal Pink, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie. Use colors of your choice.

  • Adhere white panel to Mossy Meadow panel, then adhere onto front of Crumb Cake.

  • Adhere tops of mushrooms to stems, then adhere onto card, placing two next to the gnome and two on Mossy Meadow strip.

  • Adhere one clump of grass over mushrooms next to gnome. Cut the small leaves off the other two pieces of grass and adhere around mushrooms on green strip.
