Lattice Split Card

I have been seeing a lot of cards made using the Lattice Split Card technique lately. So I decided to see if I could figure out how it's done....and here is what I came up with!

All the 2021-2023 In-Colors were used in this card: Polished Pink, Fresch Freesia, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen (plus a little Balmy Blue).

Don't forget that all products in those In-Colors will be retiring in April, so get them before they are gone!

The flowers in this card are made with the Two-Tone Flora Bundle. I love those two step flowers! To make the different shades of the same color, I picked up ink with the solid stamp, stamped it off on scrap paper, then stamped on Basic White paper. I picked up the same color with the second stamp, then stamped directly onto the first flower to get the darker color.

To make this card, you need the following pieces:

  • Basic White cardstock base, 4 1/4" x 7 3/4", scored at 5 1/2"
  • Basic White strips, 6, 1/2" x 4 1/4"
  • Top panel (I used Basic White with this card), 2" x 4"
  • Inside panel, 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
  • Inside top panel, 4 1/4" x 2 1/2"

Fold your card at the score line. Start assembling the lattice by adhering the vertical strips first. Use one of strips as a guide to place and adhere your strips (I used a colored strip for demonstration so you could see it better.

Next, adhere your bottom strip to the bottom so the edges are even. I eyeballed the placement of the other three strips, but they are approx. 1/4" apart.

If you want to stamp a verse on one of the strips, do it before you adhere into place.

I adhered a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Evening Evergreen cardstock on the inside, then a 4 1/4" x 2 1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock to the top.

At first I was going to use a 2" x 4" piece of colored cardstock at the top of the card, but decided it would be fun to run Basic White through the Bricks and Mortar embossing folder. I brushed a little yellow over the bricks to add some soft color.

I scattered the flowers and leaves over the bricks then added some Basic Rhinestones for a little extra bling!

This was a little different, but a lot of fun to make. I hope you will try it!
